WELCOME to another trip down memory lane with the County Times.
Today we venture all the way back to the 1960s to share some snippets of Powys life.
We begin with a cracking picture of a pantomime in Welshpool in 1966. Of course it is worth remembering some of the things which passed as acceptable in 1966 would not have made the grade in 2024.
However, we think this picture from the production of Aladdin perfectly sums up the camaraderie of live performance.
Next we share a picture of Bettws Cedewain WI members.
Our next picture is of members of Newtown and Llandrindod Wells chess clubs who met in 1966.
Our next picture is of Anne Evans of Llanidloes who celebrated a New Year’s Day baby on January 1st 1965.
Our final picture shows the happy faces of Newtown Methodist Church members in 1966. Recognise any familiar faces?
