As days are lengthening Llanidloes Rotary Club activities are increasing with a very special evening on Saturday, May 11, when The Treorchy Choir will be performing at China Street Chapel.

Tickets cost £15 can be bought from Woosnam and Davies, The Wool Shop, Rotary members, or online at and search for Treorchy Male Choir.

A Rotary spokesperson said: “Llanidloes Rotary are proud to host the Treorchy Male Choir in the small mid Wales town of Llanidloes in May 2024.

“As well as the choir we are excited to be joined by soloist Jessamy Ashton, our local singing talent.

“For over 140 years the Treorchy Male Choir has been recognised as one of the greatest choral ensembles of all time. Early competition victories were followed by regular radio and television broadcasts, feature films and an unequalled number of commercial recordings.

“The Choir has given Royal Command Performances, appeared alongside international entertainers and undertaken an enviable number of tours around the world.

“We hope you enjoy the opportunity to discover more about this legendary Welsh musical institution - and don’t forget that we always keep the warmest of welcomes in the hillsides!”

Rotary has a stall in the PAVO Llanidloes community event at the Community Centre on Saturday, March 16. Come along and find out about the Treorchy Choir and let children pick out a coloured shape for a sweet prize.
