Police have issued a warning to drivers to avoid any unnecessary journeys due to snow and ice covering large parts of Powys this morning (Sunday, March 3).
Officers are appealing to motorists to drive with extra care after reporting black ice in the Brecon area and poor driving conditions in the Lake Vyrnwy area.
Traffic Wales urges people to consider waiting until the weather improves unless the journey is essential. Unless you have no other option, stick to the main roads where you can, adapt to the road conditions and slow down.
The Met Office forecast for Powys today is a cold start with some frost but mostly dry with lighter winds and feeling pleasant in any sunshine. Tonight will remain dry with clear spell overnight but a widespread frost will develop as well as mist and freezing fog patches.
