A woman was taken to hospital after a crash on the Powys border flipped her car.

Emergency services were called out to a crash near Clunbury near the Powys border at late last night (Feb 5) after a car flipped on to its roof.

West Mercia Police, Shropshire Fire and Rescue and the West Midlands Ambulance Service were all called to the scene at just before 11pm yesterday to reports of a car that had come off the road and had flipped on to its roof on the B4368.

A spokesperson for Shropshire fire and rescue said: “At 23:11 on Monday, February 5, Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service Fire Control received a call reporting that a Road Traffic Collision had taken place in Clunbury.

“One fire appliance was mobilised from Clun.One vehicle has been made safe by Fire Service Personnel.”

The West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed that the woman who was driving the car has required further treatment.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called to reports of an RTC on the B4368 near Purslow Clunbury, Craven Arms at around 10.50pm.

“An ambulance and paramedic officer were sent to the scene where, on arrival, crews discovered one car had come off the road and ended up on its roof.

“The driver, a woman, was already out of the vehicle and was treated by ambulance staff for injuries not believed to be serious before being taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham for further treatment.”
