AN UP and coming football player from the Powys border met with Wales manager Rob Page last week.
Jack Davies from Bishop's Castle joined his peers from across Wales in a development night at Newtown Football Club's Latham Park with Page and his team of coaches running the rule over the stars of tomorrow.
The programme is based in both north and south Wales and has players represented from English and Welsh professional clubs, including Jack Davies who is on the books of Shrewsbury Town.

Players are involved in training days and matches across a two-year period, ending with the Cymru Cup competition. Players born in 2010 and 2011 took part in the matches.
Recent graduates from the programme that have recently progressed to the senior team include Jordan James, Charlie Savage, Harry Wilson and Ethan Ampadu.
Proud dad Lee Davies, a former defender with Newtown and Welshpool Town, was full of praise for the Wales boss.
He said: "I was flabbergasted when I saw him pitch side. He went and spoke to all the boys before the boys which was fantastic.
"He went over to my lad afterwards and basically praised him on his performance, and then asked him how things were at Shrewsbury Town.
"He seemed like a really down to earth guy and went out of his way to make time for all the boys. It was a fantastic evening."
