Welshpool Livestock Market successfully raised over £2,000 for a cancer research charity through their annual Christmas market.
On January 16, representatives from Welshpool Livestock Sales Ltd presented a cheque of £2,500 to Lingen Davies, a charity that works throughout communities, funding and supporting projects to improve care, treatment, and provide relief and support for those living with cancer.
Welshpool Livestock Market held its Christmas Cracker market on Saturday, December 2. The group selected Lingen Davies as their charity of choice for the fundraising efforts, holding a grad draw with prizes donated by local companies as a way to raise money for the organisation.
The 2023 market represented the third time Welshpool Livestock Sales Ltd picked Lingen Davies as their chosen charity, having now raised over £7,000 for the group in total.

A spokesperson for Welshpool Livestock Sales Ltd said: “We chose the charity, as it’s a charity that’s close to our hearts, as we’ve all had family and friends that have had use of the Lingen Davies Cancer Unit.
“Thank you to everyone that supported the event and brought raffle tickets.”
Staff from the market presented Doreen Owen from Lingen Davies Cancer Unit with the cheque.
