A spokesperson for Kidson Homes said: “A number of local people have been looking around the display home and the others and were pleased to see new-build family-sized homes coming onto the market.

“Some of the viewers have grown up in Beguildy or the area and it gives them the chance to move nearer their families.

"Almost all the visitors commented on the high standard of workmanship and the value for money offered by these new homes.  All of the team on site are from the Radnorshire area, as are most of the contractors.

“The “Townhouse” also caught the attention of local people, who have seen the old cottage become steadily dilapidated over the years, since its heyday when an eccentric old gentleman who lived there opened a team room.

“Those who have known the house over the years are amazed at how the house had been extended and refurbished with all mod cons, while retaining its traditional look, including the church style Gothic arch window.”

County Times:

The homes will be available starting from a starting price of £300,000 and include “UPVC double glazed windows and patio doors, low maintenance UPVC facias/soffits and satin chrome effect ironmongery.”

Kitchens include a “choice of standard kitchen door fronts with composite worktops with upgrade options, an eye level double oven, fully integrated fridge/freezer and fully integrated dishwasher”.

They have said the area is “a paradise for outdoor pursuits” being “close to the hubs for Glyndwr’s Way and the Offa’s Dyke Path, both National Trails as well as the circular walks in the area, including from Beguildy, Dutlas and Knighton.”

County Times:

They add “There are some 11 nature reserves within 10 miles, the nearest being the moorland of heather and bilberry at Cnwch Bank. The pristine waters of the Upper Teme at Beguildy. The river even supports the very rare fresh water pearl mussels and white-clawed crayfish.

The company says it was inspired to build the development by local community, adding: “Rural locations are great at building strong communities and Beguildy is no exception.

"Nearby Knighton with its schools, sports clubs, film club, community hospital, pubs and much more is a hub for local communities of all kinds. Families grow up in the area and are keen to stay around if they can. Hence our commitment to low cost, spacious accommodation for families.”
