Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has said he will visit Montgomeryshire next year.
On Wednesday, December 13, Conservative MP for Montgomeryshire Craig Williams posted a video to social media featuring the current Prime Minister.
In the video the two discuss the Montgomeryshire YFC tie Mr Williams wore to mark the Montgomeryshire Day in the House of Commons, while Mr Sunak mentions that he is planning on visiting the area in 2024.
He said: “Every week I find out about a new organisation in Montgomeryshire because you (Mr Williams) tell me which tie you’re wearing and where it’s from because I always ask you at 11.45am before we go in.

“I’m going to come and visit Montgomeryshire next year which is good. But we are delivering for the people of Montgomeryshire and for the people of Wales.”
The visit will likely be part of the campaign trail for the General Election scheduled to be held in 2024.

Montgomeryshire paid a visit to Westminster earlier in December in the form of ‘Montgomeryshire Day’, presenting an array of Montgomeryshire produce to parliamentarians as well as the chance to learn more about Mid Wales businesses and organisations.
During the event, FUW President Ian Rickman, County Chairman Iwan Pughe Jones and Montgomery YFC County Chairman Alun Tudor-Thomas met with Mr Sunak, and used the opportunity to highlight the concerns farmers have in Wales.
