A diversion will be in place in a village near Newtown over the course of the next week as the council makes repairs to the road surface.
Powys County Council has announced that the A489 through Sarn will be closed from Monday, December 11, to Friday, December 15, as workers resurface the stretch of road.
The closure will be in place during the daytime from 9am to 3pm.
A 29-mile diversion route will be in place which will take motorists through Churchstoke, up to the Sarn Bryn Caled roundabout near Welshpool then along the A483 to Newtown and A489 through Kerry towards Sarn.
The council confirmed that the alternative route will be signposted for motorists.
Powys County Council has said that the road will be closed for vital maintenance which will see a section of the road being resurfaced whilst other areas will be patched up.
