A pair of Powys schools will be facing off against each other in a series of challenges as part of a new series on S4C’s Stwnsh.

Powys schools Ysgol Y Bannau and Ysgol Bro Caereinion will compete against each other in ‘Tekkers’ an upcoming football themed game show that will see young footballers from across Wales putting their skills to the test in five football challenges.

Each week, two teams representing their primary schools compete against each other, overseen by presenters Heledd Anna, Lloyd Lewis and Huw Owen.

Ysgol Y Bannau and Ysgol Bro Caereinion will feature in an episode scheduled to be broadcast on January 12, 2024, at 5.05pm.

The series kicked off in November, as a box set featuring the first six episodes of the series were made available to watch on S4C Clic and BBC iPlayer.

The remaining six episodes, which features the Powys schools’ showdown, will be available to watch from 23 December. 

The players will be challenged in games that require good shooting and dribbling skills, as well as games for the goalkeepers and challenges to demonstrate how knowledgeable the supporters are about football, before the teams face the Red Wall in the final round for one last chance at winning or losing points.

The Red Wall challenge will see teams try to shatter a 7ft high wall, a penalty shootout where teams have to hit certain spots on thew wall to score points.
