A former school building in Welshpool that closed in 2017 has been put up for sale for £85,000.

The grounds of Ardwyn Nursery & Infants School, on Red Bank in Welshpool, have been listed for sale on RightMove, marketed by Paul Fosh Commercial, South Wales.

The school will go on sale via an online auction which will be held from December 12 to December 14.

The school was officially closed in Summer 2017 as it was scheduled to be replaced by Ysgol Gymraeg Y Trallwng, which opened its new school building facilities in May 2023.

RightMove notes that the property could be developed into a range of uses, from five independent bungalows to make use of the five classrooms in separate blocks, to an office space, leisure facility or assisted living accommodation.

RightMove describes the property as: “A listed school building comprising of five, self-contained classroom blocks, the building was architecturally designed to make best use of natural light.
