A Powys based drinks maker has won three national awards for its products at the Great British Food Awards 2023.

The Knighton based drinks company Radnor Hills were declared Regional Winners for Wales in this year’s awards on October 27.

At the same awards, two new Heartsease Farm flavours, Apple & Pear and Apple & Rhubarb, both won silver awards in the Soft Drinks category.

Heartsease Farm is a range of premium sparkling presses crafted from Radnor Hills spring water.

Launched in 2014, the Great British Food Awards celebrate the country’s finest artisanal produce as well as the hard-working people behind the scenes. This year’s judges included chefs Raymond Blanc, Michael Roux Jr and Paul Askew and food writer and MasterChef judge William Sitwell.

The shortlist for the 2023 awards were revealed in August, after months of testing by the organisations in house experts. The shortlisted products were then sent to the judging panel of celebrity chefs, writers, influencers and buyers to choose their silver and gold winners.

William Watkins, founder of Radnor Hills, said: “We’re proud to have collected these three awards and to have been selected as Welsh regional winners.”

The independent, family-owned company was established in 1990 and has grown over the past three decades to a point where Radnor Hills now has an annual turnover of £64.4 million and produces over 400 million drinks every year.

The company currently employs over 250 people at its site in Knighton.

The recognition from the Great British Food Awards caps off an eventful year for the company, as they opened expanded facilities in April, with Wales’ Rural Affairs Minister Lesley Griffiths to officially open to expansion.

Its brands include a full range of Radnor Hills spring water, Heartsease Farm, Radnor Splash, and their range of school-approved children’s drinks, Radnor Fizz.
