A Newtown man who is accused of stalking women has been told that he will be assessed by a second psychologist whether he is fit to plead to the charges in court.

Martin Scott, aged 29, of Ffordd Croesawdy, will be assessed on his autism, IQ and ability to understand the criminal charges that he faces.

Scott has yet to plead over two counts of stalking that are alleged to have happened between September 27, 2022, and September 5, 2023 and six breaches of a sexual harm prevention order between March 31 and September 2 this year.

The 29-year-old was told at Mold Crown Court on Monday, November 6, that a three-day trial had been fixed for January 24.

Judge Rhys Rowlands added that Scott will remain in custody until the next hearing which will take place at the crown court in Mold on December 22.
