Residents in Llanidloes are set to pay tribute to those in the Armed Forces who have served their country after this year's Poppy Appeal was launched.
The Royal British Legion Women’s Section, Llanidloes Branch recently gathered at The Red Lion by kind permission of Eileen Hawkins to launch the annual fundraising appeal.
Selling poppies has been an emblem for the RBL for more than 100 years. The money raised from each poppy sold goes directly towards helping all the veterans, servicemen and women, and their families.
Poppies will be on sale from a number of collection boxes in Llanidloes, Llangurig and Trefeglwys.
The Royal British Legion Women’s Section is also looking to recruit volunteers ahead of the campaign.
The Llanidloes branch of the Royal British Legion is looking for volunteers to help during the Poppy Appeal, and if anyone with a bit of free time would like to help can call Barbara Woosnam on 01686 412904 for more details on how to become involved, or to order a wreath and pins.
