A NEWTOWN woman's love for noughties boyband Westlife earned her the chagrin of quizmaster Mark Labbett on ITV's The Chase programme.

Jodi White from Newtown was among the four contestants to feature in Monday's episode (September 25) hosted by Bradley Walsh.

Jodi was asked about her interests and what she would spend her winnings if successful but her answer did not impress Mark 'The Beast' Labbett.

For Jodi is among the world's greatest Westlife fans and has made the pilgrimage to watch the Irish boy band 119 times and longs to see them again.

Mark was less enthusiastic about her boy band obsession and predicted Jodi would lose in their head-to-head and told her it would be "less Westlife and more get a life, now."

OTHER NEWS:

Sadly for the careers officer from Newtown, Mark sent her home earlier than expected and beat her during their head-to-head.

However Jodi had the last laugh - and admitted to being overwhelmed by the social media support as much as those questioning her love of all things Westlife and a curious social media comparison to Black Sabbath star Ozzy Osbourne.

She said: "I have been absolutely blown away by all the comments and love. Thank you so much. I've still not seen the show. You're told by ITV to make everything private and treat all social media comments with a pinch of salt.

"I really appreciate all the love from everyone. However being compared to Ozzy tonight on Twitter was a personal favourite... Sharon!"
