Creative printmakers from across Wales and beyond are preparing to reveal and sell their latest work at the first fair of its kind in Llanidloes.

The Mid Wales Print Fair will take place at the Minerva Arts Centre, High Street from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, October 7, and entry is free.

Prints will be on show to view and to buy from talented printmakers such as American artist and musician Jeb Loy Nichols, Machynlleth’s Elin Crowley, and Trefeglwys-based award-winning artist Andrew Baldwin who won the Most Exceptional Artist award by the Federation of British Artists and the printmaking section of Welsh Artist of the Year.

Llanidloes-based artist and event host Leanne Cordingley-Wright hopes the Mid Wales Print Fair will become a well-established event in the town's creative calendar attracting people from across the country.

"I've lived in Llanidloes for 15 years now and I am passionate about the town and all the creative people in the area," Leanne said.

"There are a lot of very talented artists here, a wonderful community and with the Minerva Arts Centre we have the perfect exhibition space to show work and host events, bringing people into the town and creating opportunities for those artists and bringing their work to a larger audience in Mid Wales.

"I've worked on events with artists a lot over the last five years or so, hosting various events and exhibitions; the print fair will be the biggest event to date.

County Times:

"The selection of artists this year is fantastic with a really vibrant and varied collection of quality traditional and nontraditional print makers from around Wales and beyond.

"I'm very excited to be able to bring such a wonderful selection of artists and their work to the town and hope this will become an annual event, so please do come along, meet the artists and grab yourself some fantastic new artwork for your walls."
