Diners at Welshpool’s The Royal Oak have contributed to the hotel raising money for charity with portions of ‘invisible chips’.

Portions of invisible chips bought by customers at the Royal Oak Hotel have helped contributed to a £13,000 donation by the hotel owners, The Coaching Inn Group, to the charity Hospitality Action.

The charity works to support working in the hotels and catering industry, including restaurants, pubs, bars, cafes, schools, hospitals, or event venues, in times of need.

Anyone who chose the ‘invisible chips’ dish was making a £2 donation to Hospitality Action, with the money going towards supporting hospitality workers.

Group Chief Executive Officer, Kevin Charity, said: “Thanks to our core base of generous hearted community customers and our many hotel guests we have now been able to donate £29,000 to Hospitality Action over the past three years.”
