Machynlleth Youth Club is looking to raise £5,000 to complete renovations on its hub, which include better furnishing and more outdoor spaces.

Having opened in November 2022, Ieuenctid Mach Youth, has continued to grow during its first 10 months.

Earlier in 2023 the organisation received praise from Reg Beckwood, high Shreiff of Powys, who visited the Owain Glyndwr Institute to present the group with an award in recognition of their services to the community.

OTHER NEWS:

The group says it has received positive feedback from those attending but is now looking to raise more money to further invest in the building they are using.

So far the group has been rewiring, repairing, insulating, plastering, fitting toilets and decorating but is now hoping to finish the work on the two rooms, start to furnish the space with cupboards and shelving, light the outdoor space and buy outdoor sports equipment and ongoing materials.

Ieuenctid Mach Youth volunteer Sarah Wilson said: “We have achieved a great deal. The space is now safe warm and clean but we still have some way to go.

“Thank you to everyone that supports us we are very grateful and so are the young people.”
