WHO does not love a beer garden?
When the sun is out and the sky is blue, a good beer garden can make even the sweetest of drinkest all the sweeter.
Beer gardens originated in Bavaria in Germany in the 19th century and have since spread to ever corner of the beer drinking world.
In Britain a beer garden is an open space which is attached to a pub.
In the countryside they usually provide a surrounding view of the area; in towns and cities a beer garden is an open garden space.

There is a small caravan park and camping area at the rear of the building and the pub has become integral to the community since the closure of the Waterloo Arms.

The St Michael and All Angels Church backs onto the rear creating a picturesque scene in the beer garden in warmer weather. Seamlessly flits between its role as a community pub and restaurant with something here to suit all tastes.

The spacious public bar with its open fire leads to gardens overlooking the River Ithon and there is a cosy lounge, restaurant and games room.

County Times reader Karl Lewis said: "I would say now Dolau Inn, Mochdre, has a superb beer garden with a wonderful atmosphere created by the landlords Christine and Mark along with locals and guests staying over.
"Plenty of fun can be had inside or outside of the Dolau."

The inn was established in 1740 and was so named after the village green it was built on.
Once the geographical centre of the village it ended up isolated as the houses were built further up the road leaving the inn half a mile away from the centre.
There is a lawned beer garden, woodland area and a large car parking area.
