MORE than 300 people will set out on Saturday to take part in the Rotary Across Wales Walk. 

The event is jointly organised by the Rotary Clubs of Llanidloes, Machynlleth and Newtown.

The object of the walk is to encourage people to get fit, to celebrate the wonderful scenery of mid Wales and raise money for charity. 

Many of the walkers will have been sponsored to raise money for their favourite charities. 

Organisers hope to be able to donate a sum of money to the Severn Hospice.

The full walk is 46 miles long, starting in Machynlleth and ending in Montgomery. It is possible to walk 30 miles from Staylittle, 19 miles from Caersws, 11 miles from Newtown or 6 miles from Abermule.

Llanidloes Rotary Club supported the town branch of WRBL by having a stall at their recent coffee morning. 

The event was a tremendous success and attracted many people to come to the church hall to enjoy cakes and coffee along with looking at the very different range of stalls. 

Any money raised will go toward supporting local charities.
The next Rotary activity is ‘The Across Wales Walk’ where annually the

Rotary Clubs of Machynlleth. Newtown and Llanidloes come together to organise the walk on June 24th, either for a specific section or the whole walk, which finishes in Montgomery. 

Llanidloes Rotary will run a stall at Llanidloes Carnival next month.
