Llanidloes Town Council is looking for a "highly motivated individual" to fill in the role of clerk that is currently up for grabs.

The clerk's role is to advise the town council on and assist in forming policies, produce all the information required for effective decision-making and implementation by the 14 councillors who meet every fourth Monday of the month.

Llanidloes Town Council said: "The successful applicant must have experience in areas such as managing finances, maintaining and closing both revenue and capital accounts, budget preparation, have a comprehensive understanding of the financial and audit statutory and mandatory requirements along with staff management and be able to give advice where required to Councillors.

"You would be in charge of running the Town Hall which has office space occupied by many tenants and responsible for two playgrounds as well as parkland areas and Allt Goch woodlands and running public toilets.

"The Council comprises of 14 Councillors who meet monthly on the fourth Monday of the Month. You would be expected to take minutes at the main Council meeting as well as at other Town Hall, finance, staffing and planning and environment panel meetings.

"The Clerk is responsible for managing the groundsman, caretaker and cleaning staff. "The ideal candidate will have significant experience in management with a financial background, good organisation and communication skills and experience in team leadership."

The role is 28 hours per week, with a possibility of more hours, and requires some flexible working. The Town Council said training will be provided as required. There are monthly meetings and subcommittee meetings held mostly at the Town Hall where the clerk’s office is based.

The rate of pay will be Scale Point LC2 £27,344 - £30,149 (£14.21-£15.67 per hour) pro rata and will be paid according to the NALC payment scales.
