Members of the Llanfyllin Community Initiative began their annual clean up of the pump track in the Cae Bodfach field.
On April 18, the group responsible for building and maintaining Llanfyllin’s pump track, a circuit designed for mountain bikes and BMX’s, carried out their first annual tidy up of the area since the onset of the Covid-19 Pandemic.
Llanfyllin Community Initiative is community group who dedicate their time to supporting biking and recreation within Llanfyllin and wider area.
The group co-organise and co-host the Welsh Enduro Series that comes to Llanfyllin as part of their Welsh series every year, which is due to arrive in Llanfyllin on May 14 for the 2023 event.

Since the onset of the Covid-19 Pandemic, the group has not had a chance to carry out its annual clean up of the area, but since holding its annual general meeting earlier in 2023, several new members have joined their efforts.
The group says this newfound energy has pushed them to work on redeveloping the site even further, regarding an area where plans were put in place but never completed.

The first stage of the group’s redevelopment plans involved reinstating the annual tidy up, which began with many members turning up to help sweep the track and strim the grass
Llanfyllin’s pump track was completed in 2017 after three years of planning and organising, as part of a community collaboration fund that.
The project was supported by the committee chair Wendy Evans, who passed away before the site was finished.
A memorial tree and plaque to her now stands in the site, with the Llanfyllin Community Initiative group maintaining the memorial as part of their duties to in the site.
Another memorial on the site, a bespoke bench, is dedicated to Danny Hughes, a downhill and Enduro biker from Llanfyllin. Danny's Bench can be seen at the top of Greenhall Hill, where the Enduro series takes place.
With just a few weeks to go until Llanfyllin hosts another round of the Enduro series, Llanfyllin Community Initiative have stated that they are planning to hold more clean up sessions at Cae Bodfach soon.
