People are being urged to share their stories and memories of the River Severn for an exhibition and celebration events as part of a brand new cultural heritage project.

Stories of the Severn looks to explore how the Clywedog Reservoir and Bryntail influences the area whether it be the engineering of the dam, natural heritage of the river or personal and historical stories from the area.

The National Heritage Lottery Funded project from Radiate Arts will capture different voices and points of view, and share layered stories, hidden histories, and memories.

Radiate Arts said: “Our aim is to showcase the outcomes in an exhibition and celebratory event in the summer and online, featuring writing, photographs, artwork and a collective art piece with elements of local heritage crafts; a community quilt.

“Workshops will include creative interpretation of the natural environment, poetry and stories from past and present, to foster collaboration and friendship, and promote a message of inclusivity and diversity, with a cross-over of community groups.”
