House prices in Powys have gone down by an average of over £3,000 in the month of November, according to figures from the Land Registry.

The latest data from the government department reveals that in November 2022 average house prices in Powys reached £262,633.

This was down from £266,371 in October, representing a 1.4 per cent decrease. In the last 12 months it has risen by 13.2 per cent.

Breaking it down for specific types of housing, all prices saw a decrease.

  • Detached houses - Down to £353,590 from £359,150 in October
  • Semi-detached houses - Down to £232,542 from £235,606 in October
  • Terraced houses - Down to £181,309 from £183,519 in October
  • Flats - Down to £104,938 from £106,458 in October

How do Powys house prices compare to the UK average?

The fall in prices this month means Powys is still below the UK average with typical property value in the nations reaching £294,910 in November.

In cash terms, the average house price in November was £27,540 higher than a year earlier with house price growth accelerating to 10.3 per cent in November 2022. Prices were down by -0.3 per cent month on month.
