PENRHYNCOCH and Guilsfield clash at Cae Baker on Saturday.

The hosts go into the game on the back of a draw with Llanidloes Town in midweek which lifted them off the foot of the JD Cymru North table.

However manager Gari Lewis warned his side to expect a tough afternoon against a Guilsfield side he rated despite their own inconsistent start to the campaign.

He said: "Guilsfield are so dangerous with Josh Astley and Iwan Matthews and have wingers who can provide brilliant service for them.

"We have improved massively over the last month and I thought we had a real close battle with them a few weeks ago and we felt things were going to plan until the equaliser right on half-time."

Lewis urged his players to continue to stick together as he sought to mastermind their climb to safety.

"We go again sat and try to find more improvement," said Lewis.

Meanwhile the Guils travel following back to back wins over Porthmadog and now in the top half of the table following a slow start to the campaign.

Manager Nathan Leonard said: "We are in a good place at the moment, all the lads are working really hard during the week and they are getting their rewards with really good performances.

"I’ve really enjoyed watching us the past few weeks but we know what this league is like and we just need to take it game by game to keep this good run going.

"Penrhyncoch away is one of the toughest games in the league for us and we know what to expect and we’ve got to be right at it if we want the three points."

Llanidloes Town hit the road on Sunday with a trip to Gresford Athletic with manager Chris Davies backing his side to arrest their recent slump.

"It’s another big game for us," said Davies. "We’re not in the best run of form at the moment but know a good result can turn it around.

"We know we’ll face a tough test. We’ve played them twice already this season so know the danger they pose. We’ve got a few missing but we’ll travel looking to get our season back on track and push on in the second half."
