LLANDRINDOD Wells survived a late comeback bid to claim a 4-3 win at 10 man Welshpool Town in the Ardal North East League this afternoon.

A frantic opening saw Tom Durant net twice for the visitors to cancel Ethan Kinsey's reply for the hosts.

However Welshpool were reduced to 10 men on the stroke of half-time with Ryan Knott dismissed following a reckless challenge.

Llandrindod looked to have cemented victory as Dan Hall and Robbie Nicholls struck early in the second-half.

However Welshpool staged a late fightback and reduced the arrears with goals from Jake Parr and Adam Knott.

Ricky Litchfield could have levelled at the death only for his penalty to be superbly saved by goalkeeper James Barker as the Spamen survived.

Llanrhaeadr celebrated a welcome 4-1 win at home to 10 man Corwen to climb off the foot of the table.

All the goals came in the second-half after Gruff Evans fired the visitors into a 55th minute lead.

Joe Vaughan levelled moments later before Ryan Broadbent fired the hosts into the lead on the hour.

Vaughan added his second with just three minutes remaining before Corwen were reduced to 10 men with the dismissal of James Davies.

William Roberts-Morris added a fourth deep into stoppage time as Llanrhaeadr celebrated three points.

Lyndon Jones struck twice as Builth Wells booked their place in the third round of the Ardal North League Cup with a 4-2 win at home to Penycae on Saturday.

Danny Holland fired the Wrexham side ahead before Jones levelled and Lee James fired the Bulls ahead at the break.

Jones completed his double after the interval and Penycae hopes of a comeback were dented with the dismissal of Evan Woodall before Jamie Evans added a fourth to settle the outcome and ensure Liam Sklenar's late strike was mere consolation.

Caersws also sealed their progress with an emphatic 5-0 win at home to Dolgellau AA.

Norton Collins and Craig Harris shared the limelight with each netting doubles with Luke Jones completing the scoring for the villagers.
