The US Powerball is one of the biggest lottery draws in the world. It has taken on plenty of global appeal over the years because of the significant size of the jackpots it has served up and the ability to bet on the outcome of the Powerball from anywhere in the world, including the United Kingdom.

The US Powerball boasts some of the biggest jackpots among all lotteries around the world. In January 2016, the US Powerball heralded a payout of $1.586 billion. There was another two years later, in October 2018, when the payout was $1.537 billion. As you can see for yourself, these are massive and life-changing amounts.

It's simple to enter the US Powerball. You have to select five numbers from a pool of 1 to 69 and an additional number, which is called the Powerball, from 1 to 26. Matching all six correctly qualifies one for the main prize, but there are smaller prizes in lower tiers as well. These can possibly be profitable as well. The odds of winning any prize in the US Powerball are about one in 25.

The odds of winning the US Powerball jackpot are around one in 300 million. That probably sounds like a lot, because it is. But keep in mind that the odds of winning the US Powerball jackpot are still smaller than clinching Italy's SuperEnalotto - they weigh in at a hefty one in 622 million.

The US Powerball is drawn three times per week. It happens on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays in the US. For people in the UK, that translates to the wee hours of Wednesdays, Fridays and Mondays. Time zones aside, that's opportunity at the start, in the middle and toward the end of the week to win big prizes. Because the US Powerball happens three times per week, it can make it a more popular product for those who prefer the greater frequency compared to, say, the Mega Millions, which happens twice per week.

In terms of which numbers have been drawn the most in the US Powerball, it's interesting to note the digit 61 had been drawn the most times from September 2015 to the same month in 2022. It had come up on 78 occasions and was closely followed by 32 with 76 times and 21 with 72 times. Those were the most frequent regular numbers.

As for the numbers most frequently drawn for the final digit, the Powerball, 24, 18 and 4 featured most highly as of the same period. They were drawn 44, 41 and 36 times, respectively.

The least common numbers drawn in the US Powerball also make for some intriguing reading. Perhaps quite appropriately, especially for those who are superstitious, 13 has been drawn the least at 42 times - again in the period of September 2015 to the same month in 2022. That said, those who opted to pick the so-called unlucky number 13 might have come good with it. And get this - the second-least frequently drawn number was 26 - yes, exactly double 13. It had only been pulled out 43 times at the time of writing.
