BRECON Corries crashed out of the Ardal South League Cup with a 5-1 defeat at home to Ynysygerwn today.

Nathan Davies opened the scoring after seven minutes and the Neath side doubled their lead before the break with Daniel Lewis on target.

Craig Evans brought the Corries back into the tie with a reply on the hour only for Lewis to restore Ynysygerwn's two goal cushion six minutes later.

Lewis completed his hat-trick with 15 minutes remaining to seal his side's progress before James Newell added a fifth late on as the Powys side crashed out of the cup at the first hurdle.

Meanwhile St Harmon booked their place in the second round of the Montgomeryshire and Mid Wales League South Cup with a 3-1 win at home to Llanfechain today.

Adam Jones struck twice with Jacob Jones also netting for the Swifts while Rob Edwards reduced the arrears for the visitors.
