TNS maintained their march toward the JD Cymru Premier title after overcoming the stubborn challenge of Pontypridd United at Park Hall today.

Dan Williams fired wide inside the opening five minutes but the south Walians closed rank and frustrated their unbeaten hosts for the next half hour.

Declan McManus tested United goalkeeper Ashley Morris while also blazing over the bar moments later with Adam Wilson also firing over as the Saints began to scent blood.

TNS broke the deadlock after 38 minutes with Danny Redmond sweeping home from close range and doubled their lead three minutes later with McManus racing through to chase down a long ball and net.

OTHER NEWS:

TNS continued to press after the break with Morris in action to dent Wilson and Redmond while Josh Daniels fired over from distance.

Ryan Brobbel also tested Morris before the visitors forced a rare opening with Ben Ahmun firing wide.

Morris maintained his one man mission to deny Wilson with 15 minutes remaining but the Saints had already done enough to maintain their title march.
