South West Shropshire Gardening Club will be welcoming historian and gardener Andrew Wyton to its next meeting.
At the age of 48, Andrew became a mature student at Writtle College in Essex studying International Horticulture. Enthused by the subject, he went on to Bristol University to complete an M.A. in Garden History.
In 2012 he moved to Wales and now runs a gardening business, although he says he still spends most of his time ‘chasing weeds’, on his two-acre Powys plot.

His talk, drawing on both his area of study and his practical experience will be fascinating. The Monster, the Mountain and The Monkey looks at three gardens and gardeners who Andrew describes as "having more than a hint of the eccentric about them".
The talk will be held at Lydbury North Village Hall at 7.30 pm on Wednesday, November 23. It is free to members of South West Shropshire Gardening Club; visitors are also welcome at £5 per person. For any further queries look at our website: www.gardeningshropshire.co.uk
