A man who suffered a medical emergency in Pant on Monday afternoon has died.

Both West Midlands and Wales Air Ambulance along with their respective ambulance services were called out after there was a medical emergency involving a cyclist in Pant on Monday afternoon.

Sadly however the police confirmed this afternoon that the man being treated, who was in his fifties and was from Newcastle-under-Lyme, had sadly passed away at the scene of the incident.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police confirmed: "Around 3pm on Monday 26 September we received a report of a cyclist who had fallen from his bike on the A483 in Pant. We attended with West Midlands Ambulance Service.

"Sadly, the cyclist, a 51-year-old man from Newcastle-under-Lyme, suffered a medical episode and died at the scene. No other injuries were reported."
