The Newtown Textile Museum is hosting their final two events of the season this next week.

The first event will involve a free demonstration of wool flannel weaving taking place at the Museum on Saturday (September 24) from 12-4 pm.

Following this the museum will hold its final textile workshop of the season. This will take place on Wednesday September 29 10am - 4pm.

This will be a “Try Braiding” day, run by The Braid Society and will cost £20.

In this one day workshop visitors will be able to have a go at "ply-split braiding" and "kumihimo braiding on a marudai" - a traditional form of Japanese braiding using a stand.

According to the Museum "all materials and equipment are included" as part of the fee and refreshments will be provided. Though, they do advise that visitors will need to bring a packed lunch.

The workshop will take place on the 3rd floor of the museum and they are advising visitors that there is no lift.
