A club spokesman said: “The lads were superb all day and produced two of the best fielding displays we have seen which included some very special catches.

“The boys have made the club extremely proud and a special mention for their coach Jonathan Davies for all his work with lads.

“Also a quick mention for Evan Smout who was nominated by the umpires as their player of the day.”

Davies said: “What stands out with these lads is their team spirit, they are such a great bunch of mates who always support each other. We have a squad of 18 lads who get on so well and everyone has contributed to our success this season.

“The fielding in both the semi and final was exemplary, everyone of the players throwing themselves at the ball, taking some incredible catches under a great deal of pressure.

“They all work so hard at their craft and the results have paid off. They are an absolute joy to coach.

“It was brilliant to see so many supporters cheer the lads on and it helped us over the line.”
