RYAN Astley came off the bench to help Accrington Stanley to English League One victory at Shrewsbury Town this afternoon.
The Llanfair Caereinion raised defender, on loan from Premier League side Everton, was named among Stanley's bench but was soon called upon to make his English League debut following an injury to Jay Rich-Baghuelou after 20 minutes.

Tommy Leigh scored the winning goal 13 minutes from time after the Shrews were reduced to 10 men following the dismissal of Tom Flanagan on the hour.
Astley helped Stanley see out the remainder of the game in front of a crowd of more than 6,000 at the New Meadow as the young Wales defender enjoyed a dream debut.
