HAY ST Mary's opened their MMP Central Wales League South campaign with a 3-0 win at home to Penybont United on Friday night.

Jack Biggs led the scoring with two goals while Adie Lawford completed the tally for the Saints.

Meanwhile Llanilar toasted an emphatic 8-1 win at home to Presteigne St Andrews on Saturday.

Osian Simpson-Jones starred with four goals while Ioan Jones netted twice and further strikes from Kieron Reynolds and Jamie Stuart ensured an emphatic victory with Jamie Blythe netting a consolation.

Elsewhere Machynlleth eased to a 4-1 win at Talgarth Town with goals from Calum Humphreys, Luke Borrelli, Dafydd Williams and an own goal cancelling a reply from James Smith who later saw red for the Royals.

Meanwhile Caersws Reserves opened their FAW Central Reserve League campaign with a 2-0 win at Llandrindod Wells Reserves this afternoon.

Goals from Huw Wainwright and Sam Williams ensured the Bluebirds a winning start to the campaign.

Bow Street Reserves also opened their season on a high with a 4-2 win at Rhayader Town Reserves on Friday night.

Sion Wyn Jones and James Whitney each netted twice for the Magpies with the hosts hitting back with goals from Ryan Owen and Fletcher Chandler.
