CAERSWS crashed out of the Nathaniel MG Cup with a 6-1 defeat at home to Holywell Town this afternoon.

The tie was all but sealed by the break with goals from David Andrews, James Cairns and two goals from David Forbes giving the Wellmen a comfortable lead.

Neil Mitchell reduced the arrears after the break but two goals from Andrews completed his hat-trick and the scoring for the Wellmen.

Meanwhile Llanidloes Town handed Aberystwyth Town a fright before succumbing to a 2-1 defeat at the home of the JD Cymru Premier side.

Andy Evans gave the Daffodils a 36th minute lead but the hosts hit back a minute later with Steff Davies on target before Phil Perry completed Aberystwyth's comeback with 20 minutes remaining.

TNS are out of the cup after losing to old rivals Connah's Quay Nomads with the Deesiders prevailing 5-4 on penalties after the tie ended 1-1 after extra time.

Mike Wilde fired the Nomads ahead 10 minutes before the break before Declan McManus forced extra-time with a 79th minute leveller.

Despite Connor Roberts pulling off three superb saves from the spot, the Saints’ penalty hoodoo continued, and it was Connah’s Quay Nomads who progressed to the third round of the Nathaniel MG Cup after a marathon shoot out.

Meanwhile Guilsfield's Nathaniel MG Cup campaign ended with a 1-0 second round defeat at home to Ruthin Town.

Gwion Owen's 78th minute strike ensured the villagers' fell at their first hurdle having received a bye for the second round.
