ONE of the main roads through northern Powys was closed for several hours on Saturday after a crash shut the route.
A collision closed the A470 between Llanidloes and Llandinam, according to Dyfed Powys Police.
The force said the road was closed just after 12noon, and as of 7.30pm the road remained shut.
The road has now been re-opened, after police cleared the scene at about midnight, nearly 12 hours after the collision.
In a tweet published online, the force said: "The A470 between Llanidloes and Llandinam is currently closed in both directions due to an collision.
"If possible, please avoid the area and find an alternative route."
Traffic Wales also confirmed that the emergency services are at the scene.
