BRECON Football Club have withdrawn from the MMP Central Wales League South.

The club has insisted it will revive its senior side next season.

A spokesman said: “With the loss of quality, committed squad members going on to better things we haven’t been able to recruit the committed number of players.

“Rather than scratch 11 or 12 together week in week out, we’re taking a years break to reset and recruit local youth in time for when they come of age.

“With the merger of Brecon Town juniors this gives the club and town a promising future as youngsters can make the step up

“We have plenty of volunteers who are willing to stay in their positions and guide the club back. This isn’t the end but a new beginning.”
