THE Nicky Grist Stages return to Builth Wells on Saturday.
Local lad Jason Pritchard will be competing in his first gravel rally in a 4WD car in a decade in a North Road garage Volkwagen Polo GTi R5.
The 34 year old has won three consecutive British Rally Championships and also won Grist stages last year in the BTRDA Historics class.
Pritchard said: “I am looking forward to contesting my first forestry rally in a 4WD car for 10 years and it is extra special to do so on my home round of the British Rally Championship and having all my family and friends out supporting the Nicky Grist Stages.
“While the stages is my local event I do not exactly drive back and forth to work through the forests every day so I do not actually know them that well. In fact the last time I saw them was on last year’s Nicky Grist Stages but I am looking forward to rallying there.”
The rally begins at 8.30am on Saturday.
