CARRIE Jones and Ceri Holland helped Wales to a goalless draw against New Zealand in the Pinatar Cup in Spain on Wednesday afternoon.
Newtown raised Manchester United star Jones played the first-half before making way while Liverpool ace Holland, who qualifies for Wales through her Llanfyllin born mother, played 90 minutes.
The game could have gone either way with Wales unable to find the end of several threatening crosses and Laura O’Sullivan pulling off an impressive save in the final few minutes of normal time to deny a New Zealand winner from Jacqui Hand’s header.
Wales return to action in September against Slovenia in the World Cup play-offs.
