A charity shop in Machynlleth has received a prestigious award from its parent organisation.
The Save the Children shop in Machynlleth recently won the Volunteer Team of the year Award from the Save the Children Awards 2022.
The award recognises volunteers within the charity as a thank you event for outstanding contributions to the group’s work.
Shop manager, Gerladine Purser, said: “Obviously we’re completely thrilled to receive this recognition for all our hard work.
“As shop manager I could not be happier with this recognition that is so well deserved for such a talented and motivated team.
A cake to celebrate the Machynlleth team's win.
“Huge thanks also go to our local community who keep donating and keep popping back to browse and purchase.”
The Machynlleth shop was chosen from all of the teams within Save the Children UK, from fundraising and aid programmes to corporate management and 112 other shops.
The award was presented to the 20 volunteers who run the shop by regional manager Nigel Rogers and Head of Field Operations, Mandy Tierny.
