LLANFYLLIN football coaching prodigy Eric Ramsay could be in line for his first full managerial role, according to reports.
Ramsay, currently the set piece coach at Manchester United, is among "five or six" candidates being considered for the vacant managerial position at Barnsley, according to reports in the Yorkshire Post.
Ramsay has been part of the set-up at Old Trafford since leaving Chelsea in 2021, when he was added to the Old Trafford club's set-up by then-boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
It is also reported that new Red Devils manager Erik Ten Hag is keen on retaining the manager's services.
Barnsley, who were relegated from the Championship this year so will face Ramsay's former club Shrewsbury Town in League One next season, have been without a manager since Poya Asbaghi left following the club's demotion.
Ramsay attended Llanfyllin high school, and has previously been part of the coaching set up at Shrewsbury and Swansea.
