Machynlleth based renewable energy Dulas celebrated 40 years of operations by welcoming their local MP to the site.

Craig Williams, Member of Parliament for Montgomeryshire, paid a visit to the renewable energy company Dulas on May 14.

The visit was part of a ceremony to mark the milestone of 40 years since the company’s foundation in 1982.

Mr Williams said: “It’s really great to join Dulas for its anniversary today.

“Dulas is such a tangible resource, a business born out of the Centre of Alternative Technology in Mid Wales.

“They are a huge local employer with great IP and a global exporter, something we’re all proud of in Montgomeryshire.

Also in attendance at the event were representatives from Dulas’ clients and contacts such as EDF Energy, Welsh Water, Natural Resources Wales and the National Trust.

Visitors were given a tour of Dulas’ workshop and manufacturing facility, as well as a talk on the company’s history and its upcoming projects, from the most acclaimed products to newly developed prototypes.

Dulas’ managing director Ruth Chapman said: “We’re delighted that so many valued clients, suppliers and contacts came to celebrate with us.

“We continue to grow at what is a crucial turning point for renewables, and fully intend on being part of the global effort to end the reliance on fossil fuels by harnessing clean renewable energy sources.”
