A gift shop in Welshpool has won an award recognising it as one of the best retailers in the UK.
Independent shop Gifts of Wales, located on Church Street in Welshpool, was the recipient of “Best Newcomer Retailing Gifts” at the Greats Retail Awards.
The awards ceremony was held on May 12 at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London, where Gifts of Wales was recognised as the best newcomer in the gift sector of British retail.
The independent gift shop first opened in April 2021.

Kathryn Greatorex, owner of Gifts of Wales, said: “The news is only just starting to sink in, we were thrilled to be in the final and can’t quite believe we won.”
The shop sells solely Welsh products such as textiles and homeware that are made in Wales, sourced from a variety of small and artisan producers as well as a few well known Welsh brands.
Through their purchasing they support over 50 other small Welsh businesses.
The shop in Welshpool is open Monday to Saturday 9.30am to 5pm with the online shop open 24/7.
