A pavement in Welshpool has been damaged after a car crashed through a garden wall.
On Sunday, May 15, the railings and pavement on Borfa Green were damaged by after a car left the road and careered across the path. The occupants then left the scene, police say.
Dyfed-Powys Police said: “We were called at around 10pm on Sunday (15 May) after a car had crashed through a garden wall in Borfa Green, Welshpool.
“The car had also taken out a stretch of metal railings. The occupants of the vehicle left the scene following the collision.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
The crash comes after several residents raised concerns over the road safety of the area and the speed at which cars travel down the road.
Powys County Council Highways team were on the scene during the morning of May 16, to clear the debris and reopen the pavement as soon as possible.
Councillor Graham Breeze said: “I have received several calls this morning about the speed of traffic on this stretch and claims of vehicles continually circling the town at night.
“I will be discussing the complaints with the local police.”
