A "magical" three-acre garden in a wooded valley near Abermule will be open to the public this weekend to help fund nursing and caring charities.
The garden at Rock Mill (SY15 6NN) offers extensive lawns, colourful borders and fishponds as well as remnants of its industrial past and child friendly activities.
Helen Anthony, from the National Garden Scheme, said: "Protected by huge rocks, the garden surrounding the old mill is a picture at this time of the year when the rhododendrons are at their peak, covered in huge showy blooms of many shades."
The garden is best approached along the dingle from Abermule towards Hodley and is open from 2pm to 5pm on both Saturday, May 21, and Sunday, May 22.
Admission is £6 for adults and the money raised will go to charities and causes supported by the National Garden Scheme including Macmillan, Marie Curie, Queen’s Nursing Institute, Hospice UK and Carers Trust.
