WITH iconic Australian soap Neighbours set to air its final ever episode later this year, Powys-based fans of the show can experience a night with one of the all-time cast legends.

Join Alan Fletcher, aka Dr Karl Kennedy, as he looks back on his 28 years as Ramsay Street’s most famous doctor in an intimate live show in Crickhowell on Friday, September 23. The event will coincide with the final episode being shown in Australia in August or September, with Alan appearing at the Clarence Hall, Crickhowell, as part of his UK tour entitled ‘The Doctor Will See You Now’.

With the aid of video footage and music from Neighbours, the tour is an interview-style show which will undoubtedly go off-script, looking back on Alan’s time on the show, as both Karl and Greg Cooper, along with insights into his own life and career.

This is the perfect opportunity to get up close and personal with one of Neighbours’ biggest stars in a night that will be funny, fabulous, heart-warming and full of details about the history of one of the biggest stars in soap.

The performance will also offer a Q&A segment to allow you the audience an opportunity to grill Alan with the questions you have always wanted to know the answer to. Alan, a keen musician, will also perform some songs.

Tickets went on sale on Friday (May 13) and are available from Skiddle.

There have been many rumours about what's in store for the series' farewell – including one that Ramsay Street was set to blow up. Show producers, however, moved to dismiss these rumours.

Executive producer Jason Herbison has, however, confirmed that Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan, aka Scott and Charlene, will return for the finale.

Kylie and Jason also excited fans by sharing a cryptic glimpse of their scripts on their respective Instagram pages.

Dan MacPherson also announced his return via Instagram, writing: “Joel Samuels is back for the final episodes of Neighbours. I couldn't let the show end without saying goodbye.”

Another titan of the show is set to return in Ian Smith, famous for playing Harold Bishop.

It has also been claimed that producers are in contact with Hollywood start Guy Pearce, who portrayed Mike Young on the soap.

One more old face set for one final curtain call is an actor who now calls Mid Wales his home. Mark Little, who played Joe Mangel from 1988 to 1991, will be among the legion of former stars making one final appearance.

Mark will be jetting out from his home near Llanfyllin to join the likes of Kylie and Jason. Little debuted on-screen in an episode airing on August 8, 1988. He departed in 1991 but agreed to reprise the role as part of Neighbours' 20th anniversary celebrations in 2005; and he remained for four months.

The Australian soap opera has been on our screens for 37 years, first airing in 1985, and has followed the lives of those living and working in the fictional Melbourne suburb of Erinsborough.

After nearly four decades on our screens, it was confirmed in March that the beloved soap was coming to an end – after almost 9,000 episodes.
