A MAN has been sentenced to a two-year community order after he assaulted two women in Builth Wells.
Michael Wood, 34, admitted assaulting victims Rebecca Maggs and Carol Gethin in the Powys town on April 13. He appeared at Merthyr Tydfil Magistrates' Court on Thursday, May 12, where he was ordered to adhere to the requirements of a community order for the next two years. This will include 31 sessions of a building better relationships programme as well as completing 15 rehabilitation activity requirement days.
The offences committed by Wood, whose address appeared as Towers Road, Upper Beeding, West Sussex, occurred on Park Road, Builth. He also admitted a third charge from the same day of possessing 8 grams of cannabis – for which magistrates ordered no separate penalty, though they did order the drugs be destroyed.
Wood will also have to pay a £95 surcharge and £85 costs.
