A POWYS man has been ordered to complete 250 hours of unpaid work after he assaulted a teenager.
Ryan Jackson received a community order which included the unpaid work when he was sentenced at Llandrindod Wells Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, April 27. Jackson, 34, had admitted assaulting the teen in Rhayader at an earlier hearing.
The incident occurred at around 9pm on September 9, with CCTV capturing what happened.
Prosecutor Stephen Davies said a witness described Jackson as “angry and aggressive” during the incident.
Acting for Jackson, Owain Jones said his client had accepted guilt on the first occasion but had since abandoned any basis of plea due to the CCTV footage.

“Mr Jackson is a man of good character and I know this will tarnish his reputation,” said Mr Jones.
“He works for a charity and is hoping to go to Peru to an animal sanctuary in May. He is in physical ill health and is not able to move around freely but says he can manage with any unpaid work.”
Magistrates made a 12-month community order, which will include 24 rehabilitation activity days, in addition to the 250 hours’ unpaid work.
In addition he was ordered to pay a £95 surcharge and £85 costs, as well as £100 compensation to his victim. Magistrates also granted a restraining order.
