CAERSWS are the inaugural Ardal North League Cup champions.

A solitary strike from Glynn Coney early in the second-half was just enough for the villagers to overcome Mold Alexandra in Penycae as the Bluebirds toasted the perfect morale booster for their end of season promotion play-off.

Meanwhile Machynlleth tasted a 6-2 home defeat at Cefn Albion in the final match of the Arda North East League season.

The Wrexham side led with goals from Jordan Williams and two goals from Kai Morris with the hosts remaining in contention at the break through Callum Page's reply despite seeing Phil Jones earn his marching orders.

Morris completed his hat-trick after the break while Williams added his second of the afternoon before Alex Williams completed Albion's tally while Page reduced the arrears from the penalty spot with 20 minutes remaining for the Maglonians.

Elsewhere Rhayader Town were denied a last day of the season win as their Ardal South East League clash at Abertillery Excelsiors ended in a 2-2 draw.

Matthew Jones broke the deadlock for the hosts after just 10 minutes before the Red Kites were reduced to 10 men with the dismissal of Sam Rees.

However Rhayader rallied and hit back to lead with goals from Darren Murphy and Jamie Evans before the hosts were also reduced to 10 men with the dismissal of Ryan Wookey.

Abertillery snatched a point with eight minutes remaining with Brandon Withers netting as honours ended even.
